Jacksonville Wedding Photographer Ruth Shepherd | Going to Texas, new equipment, and special deals!

Hi folks! I’m so excited for this post because I have a lot of good news to share. First of all, I wanted to share with you a wedding I’ll be covering later this month in San Antonio, Texas. This is a dream wedding come true: It’s on a ranch outside of the city with vineyards, waterfalls, and exotic animals. Celebrity band The Gourds are going to be covering the reception. I’m sooo excited for this!! The bride is one of the most creative people that I know (she’s even designing and sewing her own dress), so I can’t wait to see what they have in store for their guests. Raph and Porter, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding! Definitely the highlight of my April :)

Secondly, I wanted to introduce my newest camera and member of the family, the Nikon D700. It just arrived last night, and I’m already super impressed with its capabilities. I’m especiallystoked since this camera is ‘full-frame’, a larger sensor that performs really well in low light situations. I’ve already done a few test shots and I’m in looove. I’ll be rockin’ this camera this weekend at an engagement shoot and at the Jacksonville Zoo.

Third on the agenda is my filling schedule. While wedding season is in full swing, there seem to be very few April and early May bookings. So, I’m introducing new 6-week last minute pricing. If your wedding is in the next six weeks and you still haven’t gotten a photographer, give me a call and I’ll give you a special rate. While my regular coverage includes unlimited time, I’ll be booking 4-hour wedding coverage for a special price of $999 ONLY if your wedding is booked less than 6 weeks in advance. Be careful about waiting til the last minute, though, because coveted dates are booked well in advance.
That’s it for now, I’ve got a ‘tasty’ post coming up in a couple of days, so check back!

-Ruth
